TOPANGA ACTORS COMPANY (TAC) is a local, resident theater company and
a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
Our mission is to bring contemporary theater works
to audiences in Topanga Canyon and beyond.
Topanga locals Paula LaBrot and Judith Hendra founded the group
in 2015. They shared an enthusiasm for theater, real-life experience
acting and directing, and the firm belief ours is a perfect place for
contemporary theater to flourish.

TAC strives to be an inclusive organization where talent of all kinds is
welcome.
Our expertise is the enhanced staged reading performed for an intimate audience who enjoy our productions at no charge. The settings are two local libraries, in Topanga and in Malibu.
We began in 2015 with a single production featuring Steve Martin’s
comedy Picasso at the Lapin Agile. Since then the group has performed
staged readings of plays by prize-winning playwrights
Sarah Ruhl, Terrence McNally, Lucy Kirkwood, Amy Herzog, Yasmina Reza and more. Our productions have featured more
than forty actors from the community with an age range of 14 to 82.
We have high standards for the plays we select. We look for strong
characterization, engaging writing, and thought-provoking themes.
While we aim to entertain we do not shy away from the controversial.
*TAC is incorporated as a 501(c)(3) not-for profit organization in the State of
California. Any contributions are fully tax-deductible.
